Retired Tangedco employees seek benefits

Urging the Tangedco administration to fulfill their long demands, including medical insurance and providing them the benefits of new pension scheme, members of Tamil Nadu Electricity Retired Employees’ Welfare Association staged a demonstration in front of the Office of the Superintending Engineer on EVN Road here on Tuesday. Led by its zonal secretary K. Balakrishnan and E. Kulandaisamy of the association, members said that in commemoration of 60 years of formation of the board, notional increment to the employees retired from service from December 1, 2015 to June 30, 2017, was announced by the government.
They said that retirement benefits were not given to employees who retired from service after December 1, 2015. Also, full benefits to employees under the new retirement policy should be provided.
