Aadhaar hearing

First published on 14-Dec-2017
New Delhi: A five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra will on Thursday decide on a batch of applications seeking a stay on the Centre's alleged coercive measures to force people to link Aadhaar cards with services like cell phones and bank accounts. "Aadhaar... the matters are being taken up tomorrow," Justice Misra said, on a day the Centre extended the deadline for linking Aadhaar.

Bank customers have been granted three more months for compliance till March 31. This will apply to mutual funds, credit and debit cards, and other regulated entities facilitating financial transactions.
