MADURAI: Tamil Nadu milk and dairy products developments minister K T Rajendra Balaji has said superstar Rajinikanth is too innocent to survive in politics. A person who doesn't not know how to play the political game would not fit in it, according to the minister.

Speaking to reporters after inaugurating a veterinary hospital in Sivakasi on Thursday, the minister said Rajinikanth would have succeeded if he had entered politics around 20 years ago. "It is too late for him now as his fans are members of various political parties. Let's hope someone is able to guide and advise him on this,'' he said.

The minister's remark comes two days after Rajinikanth told his fans that he would announce his political stand on December 31.

The minister said the government was able to achieve much because it had a good relationship with the central government. A coalition with the BJP in the next elections could not be rule out, he said.

"The defeat in RK Nagar bypoll was an accident. We will use it as the stepping stones to another victory,'' he said.
