Body of medical student found on railway track in Tamil Nadu

TRICHY: The body of a 21-year-old medical student was found on a railway track near Kulithalai in Karur district of Tamil Nadu on Friday.
The victim has been identified as A Amrithraj, a second year MBBS student in KAP Viswanathan Medical College in Trichy. He was a native of Karupathur in Karur district.
Amrthraj left home on Thursday morning to write an exam in his college. As he had not returned home even till midnight, his family member started searching for him.
His body was found in pieces on a railway track near Kallapalli temple in the early hours Friday. The Kulithalai police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem.
The police suspect that he might have committed suicide by jumping in front of a train. "He was found dead on a railway track after his examination. This points to a possible suicide. He might have committed suicide after performing poorly in the exam," said an investigation officer.
The police were inquiring with his family members and friends to ascertain the reason for his death.
