Alliance Air plane’s wing hits step ladder at Chennai airport

CHENNAI: A Chennai-Trichy Alliance Air flight was delayed by three hours after the wing of the aircraft hit a step ladder belonging to IndiGo airlines at Chennai airport on Sunday morning. There were no passengers inside the plane.
The plane that was scheduled to depart at 7.05am was being brought from the hangar to Bay 51 to commence boarding of passengers when the incident happened. It happened around 6.30am.
The aircraft had been grounded for inspection and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) had been informed, said an official.
The inspection revealed that there was no serious damage to the plane, and it was certified fit to fly.
The flight departed to Trichy at 10.10am.
