Rlys to stop pasting reservation charts at major stns

TIMES NEWS NETWORK

Chennai: Railway board has decided that reservation charts will not be pasted on reserved coaches of trains at all A1, A and B category stations as a pilot project for six months from March 1. An order in this regard was issued on February 13. These are all the major stations with large footfalls.

This is a continuation of a scheme started at main stations like Chennai Central, New Delhi, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Mumbai Central, Howrah and Sealdah for a period of three months recently.

The board has clarified that physical/digital charts will however be displayed at the platforms of the train.

All stations where electronic chart display plasma has been installed and are functioning properly, zonal railways can stop display of physical reservation charts, making the system paperless.

However, the board has directed that a constant vigil should be maintained at these platforms to ensure that the electronic charts display are functioning properly.

In case of non-functioning, immediate action should be taken to paste physical charts. Feedback would have to be sent to the Board after three months with detailed comments
