Diwali train tickets sold out in just 5 minutes

Tickets on southbound trains were sold out five minutes after booking opened at 8am on Thursday for travel on October 25 to reach destinations a day before Diwali.
As the festival falls on a Sunday, a majority of people prefer to travel on Friday (October 25) so that they will reach their destinations a day before the festival. There was a huge demand for tickets according to the booking trend.
Tickets for AC first class, AC II tier, AC III tier and sleeper class on 10 popular trains were sold out and reservation status reached either RAC or waitlist soon after booking started.
Reservation status for sleeper class of these trains touched waitlist in the first four minutes after booking started. TNN
