Nominee for Anna Univ VC search panel selected

The syndicate of Anna University on Monday nominated former IIT-Kanpur director K Anantha Padmanabhan as its nominee on a three-member search panel to shortlist candidates for the post of vice-chancellor of the university .Governor and chancellor C Vidyasagar Rao had earlier nominated former Chief Justice of India R M Lodha as his nominee on a new search panel for the university head.Lodha will also be convenor of the panel.
Padmanabhan, a professor who was associated with Anna University's mechanical engineering department.He has been a full-time professor at the university from November 2015 and has co-authored three books on superplastics.
Rao had on May 27 rejected three candidates the earlier panel had shortlisted for the post of Anna University VC, stating that he felt they were not qualified enough to head the country's largest university for technical education.
