BSNL has launched a reconnection mela for postpaid numbers that were disconnected due to non-payment of dues. After the customers agreed to pay the bills, they were given their old numbers back. The scheme was launched in Chennai on Wednesday in the presence of Chennai Telephones CGM S M Kalavathi.

Earlier, the telecom major had launched a similar scheme for landline consumers and nearly 60,000 customers reconnected after payment of dues and received their old numbers.
The mela will be on the same lines as that of landline and broadband, with easy instalments for clearing the outstanding dues and getting back the same number, if available for allotment, a statement by BSNL said.

“BSNL CGM thanked the customers for their come back. All customers who want to avail reconnection of their disconnected mobile postpaid numbers can now approach BSNL customer care centres,“ the statement said.
