People's support is vital to usher in change for the better….we are entering politics to usher in a change.

Chennai: Triggering fresh speculation over an early announcement of his foray into politics, actor Rajinikanth on Tuesday declared that the corrupt and power-hungry would have no place in his 'mandram.'

The actor said he had made it clear earlier that his fans should not engage themselves in politics with the aim of making money. “It is also a fact that we cannot enter politics based on the support of just the fans alone,” he said. He stressed that his intention to introduce a new type of politics would be sullied if anyone with bad intentions is allowed into the organisation.

“People's support is vital to usher in change for the better….we are entering politics to usher in a change. That cannot remain in words and should reflect in the way we function too,” the actor said.
In a hard-hitting statement Rajinikanth said went on to say that he had made a decision not to allow people who wanted to enrich themselves through positions in his organisation. “When I met my fans in May this year, I told them that if they wish to secure themselves financially by using party positions, I would definitely be against it. I meant every word of it. If anybody feels so, then please step aside,” he said.

Justifying his action against some fans who were removed from his Rajini Makkal Mandram (RMM), the veteran actor noted that removing them from the RMM was necessary to maintain discipline. And every such action was taken with his knowledge and approval. “There is an attempt by some to run a misinformation campaign that such actions were taken without my knowledge. But all actions are taken with my knowledge and approval,” he said.

Renewing his plea to his fans to take care of their parents, spouse and children, the actor said anybody who does not take care of his own family need not join the organisation to take care of the public.
