Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti is felicitated during launch of Radio Mirchi in Jammu on Tuesday
JAMMU: J&K chief minister Mehbooba Mufti launched the popular FM station Radio Mirchi at 98.3MHz here on Tuesday.
With a tagline of "Keeping Jammu Khush", the initiative will provide a platform for the youth to express themselves, besides entertainment, the CM said. She added that the radio programmes can also spread awareness about issues that affect society, as well as impart useful information to the listeners.
"Besides musical enjoyment, radio can also serve as a source of knowledge. Interactive programmes can help people share their problems anonymously. Also, youth engaged in the fields of sports, music and performing arts will be benefitted by the venture," Mehbooba said.
Radio Mirchi COO Mahesh Shetty said, "The Jammu playlist will include 70% Bollywood and 30% Punjabi tracks. We designed our playlist and on-air experience around what the people of Jammu wanted to hear. Entertaining them with celebrity chats, comedy and info-tainment will be our priority. As a brand, we believe in creating customized products for our markets, tailored to suit the preferences of the city."
