Tamil Nadu governor inaugurates Chennai-Paris flight

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit inaugurated Jet Airways' first direct service between Chennai and Paris at a function held at Chennai International airport on Saturday.

An airline official said that the flight had 50% occupancy on the first service. The 9W 128 flight to Paris took off from Chennai at 1.45am on Sunday.

This was followed by a multi-faith prayer, after which the airline handed over boarding passes to the first guests to check in for the maiden flight.

N Shankar of the Sanmarg group gave floral presentations to the passengers while DGCA official Shanmugam and Assistant Commissioner of Police Vijaykumar handed over boarding passes.
