Vels University celebrates silver jubilee
Variety entertainment by students and felicitations offered by film personalities, political leaders marked the silver jubilee celebrations of Vels University at Pallavaram on Saturday.
Normally, October 7, the birthday of Chancellor Isari K. Ganesh is celebrated as family day on the campus. The silver jubilee of the university coincided with the 50th birthday of its Chancellor. Apollo Hospitals chairman Prathap C. Reddy presided.
He said education and medicine were two important areas of focus in the country. Vels University had opened educational institutions covering both school and collegiate education apart from touching upon the medical field.
Mr. Ganesh distributed prizes to the winners of various competitions held at school/college level.
