AHMEDABAD: A youth allegedly tried to commit suicide on Wednesday because he did not like his face.
Ajay Patel, 24, a resident of Alampura near Gandhinagar, jumped off the fourth floor of the Udyog Bhavan in Gandhinagar on Wednesday afternoon.
In a suicide note, recovered from his pocket, Patel claimed that he was dissatisfied with his looks and that his parents and friends should not be blamed for his extreme decision. The matter was reported to the sector seven police station.
However, as luck would have it, Patel survived the fall, but sustained grievous fractures in his legs and on his forehead. Watchmen of Udyog Bhavan, who rushed to the spot where Patel fell, called the 108 paramedical services and got him shifted to Civil Hospital in Gandhinagar.
