Implement Pay panel report, say revenue department pensioners

The Revenue Department pensioners have appealed to the State Government to implement the Pay Commission Report with effect from January 1, 2016 and give 20% interim relief.
A resolution to this effect was passed in their 18th district-level conference held here on Saturday.
The meeting said the anomalies plaguing the new cashless health insurance scheme should be weeded-out and the contributory pension scheme withdrawn. Pensioners should be given monthly medical allowance of Rs. 1,000. The Tamil Nadu Administrative Tribunal should be created to probe government employees’ service-related cases.
Besides increasing the family protection assistance from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1 lakh, the government should give Rs. 25,000 for performing the last rituals of the pensioners. The retired government employees should be given 50% fare concession while travelling in government buses.
Like the Union Government, full pension should be given to those who have served for 20 years and 10% additional pension given to the beneficiaries who have crossed the age of 75. The existing 30% family pension should be increased to 40%.
Former Revenue Secretary K. Dhanavel participated in the meeting.
