Private hospital to set up 200-bed healthcare centre at Thiruverkadu
Chennai: Dr Mehta’s hospitals is planning to set up a 200-bed hospital at Thiruverkadu as part of their expansion plan. The hospital, which grew from a twobedded nursing home in Sowcarpet in 1933, is a pioneer in maternity, neonatology, paediatrics and women’s health and has completed 1million deliveries.
Speaking at the 85th Founder’s Day of the hospital, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals chairman Dilip Mehta said, “The new state-of-the-art hospital is going to be located at Thiruverkadu where there is an immidiate need for a quality-driven, competent super-speciality hospital which is also consumer-friendly.”
He also said that the hospital has conducted 2,50,000advanced surgeries and hundreds of sucessful transplants. “We have done one million successful deliveries by serving more than 20,000 families across two generations. The kids born at Mehta’s had become doctors in our hospital and have great grand children now,” said CEO Sameer Mehta. TNN
