Chennai: Chief minister Edappadi K. Palanisami on Monday announced the Deepavali bonus for 3.69 lakh government employees.
Festival bonus and ex gratia of Rs. 489 crore will be disbursed among staff and contract labourers of various departments and cooperative workers, a statement from the secretariat said.
The Central government raised the salary ceiling from Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 21,000 under the Bonus Act 2015 but the State government has relaxed the ceiling and ensured that all class C and D category staff of government and public sector companies get festival bonus, said the chief minister in an officiaL release.
