British Airways to fly Dreamliner to London from city, every day

Flying to London from Chennai will become a more comfortable experience from this month-end.

British Airways plans to operate a Boeing Dreamliner from the city on all days of the week.

Sharing details with the media on Monday, Christopher Fordyce, commercial manager, British Airways, South Asia, said, the airline now operates one direct flight a day for six days, which would be increased to seven days a week from October 27.

This announcement is part of celebration of 90 years of the airlines’ operation in the country, he said.

Promotional fare

He also announced the airline had a promotional one-way fare of Rs. 49,230 from Chennai to London. The tickets can be booked till October 31 for outbound travel dates till March 31 next year.

Mr. Fordyce said the increased patronage for the airline had led them to operate the direct flight to London on all days of the week.

Demand on the rise

The demand is on the rise from both Chennai and Hyderabad. The airline first introduced the Dreamliner in the Hyderabad–Chennai sector in March this year, followed by Chennai by this month-end.

The airline operates 14 flights a week to London out of Mumbai and New Delhi, he said.
