‘Increase bed strength in GRH’

Petition filed in High Court Bench

A petition was filed before the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Friday seeking an increase in bed strength with adequate ventilators in all the intensive care units of the Government Rajaji Hospital here.

The petition said that there was a need to improve the infrastructure in the ICUs, which included the Intensive Medical Care Unit, Intensive Coronary Care Unit, Intensive Respiratory Care Unit, Toxicology Ward, Medial Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit and Paediatric Intensive Care Unit.

The petition was posted for further hearing.
