The investigation committee constituted under the Medical College superintendent Joby John submitted its report to the Directorate of Medical Education stating the doctors of the medical college were not in the wrong in the incident. The assessment report said Murugan was given care as per the treatment protocol.
It said no ventilator was vacant when Murugan was brought to the hospital. Doctors in charge of intensive care went to the ambulance and examined him. It was found the patient’s condition was critical
“Those who accompanied the patient (Murugan) were given two options - either take him to a hospital where ventilator was vacant or go ahead with the Ambu Bag facility which the hospital could arrange. Those accompanying the patient did not reply to the Ambu Bag arrangement,” it said.
