Professor held for sexually harassing junior staff

The Tiruverambur All Women Police have arrested A. Pasupathi (55), Head of the Chemistry department of Urumu Dhanalakshmi College in the city on the charge of sexually harassing his junior colleague.
The arrest of Pasupathi was made on a complaint preferred by an Assistant Professor a couple of days ago.
Police sources said the woman had lodged a complaint with the Tiruverambur All Women Police alleging that Mr. Pasupathi had been harassing her sexually from March last year, besides abusing and threatening her.
Acting on the complaint, the Tiruverambur All Women Police arrested Pasupathi on Wednesday.
He was later admitted to Mahatma Gandhi Government Hospital after he had complained of complications.
