Thai Pusam festival to begin on January 25

The 10-day Thai Pusam festival would commence on January 25 with the flag hoisting ceremony at Sri Periyanayaki Amman Temple, popularly known as ‘oor kovil’ in Palani, the third abode of Arubadai Veedu.
The holy car procession would be held on January 31 and Theppam (float festival) on February 3, the 10th day of the festival.
Car procession would be held around 11 a.m. instead of 4.30 p.m. owing to lunar eclipse. Sayaratchai puja (evening puja) has also been advanced to 2.45 p.m. instead 5.30 p.m.
The temple would be closed around 3.45 p.m. Lunar eclipse would take place between 6.22 p.m. and 8.41 p.m.
