Admission supervisory committee cancelled the admissions in three medical colleges in Kerala
THIRUVANATHAPURAM: Admission supervisory committee for professional colleges in Kerala headed by Justice J M James has cancelled the MBBS admissions in three self-financing medical colleges for lack of transparency in selection of candidates.
The colleges that suffered the heat of the committee areKannur medical college, Karuna medical College and Mount Zion medical college. According to an order issued by the committee here on Thursday, the MBBS admissions carried out by these colleges for 2016-17 academic year stand cancelled for flouting all transparency norms. The colleges have failed to provide flawless online facility for admission and did not furnish full details of the candidates they have admitted to the colleges. However, these colleges can admit students, if they activate their online admission facility and complete the admission procedures transparently by September 19.
The committee had earlier set September 13 as the dead line for colleges to publish the list of candidates applied and selected for the MBBS admission to each of the colleges. Upon inspecting the website of the colleges, the committee has come to the conclusion that the above said three medical colleges have flouted all transparency norms, while three other colleges did not furnish their admission details fully.
Following this, principals of Travancore medical college, P K Das medical college and Sree Gokulam Medical collegs have been asked to furnish all the admission details on today itself ie, September 15, for avoiding further action by the commission.
