Service registers of 27,302 govt. employees to be digitised in Dindigul

Service registers of all government employees should be digitised by January 2018, said Thenkasi S. Jawahar, Principal Secretary to Treasury Department.
Addressing a review meeting held here on Tuesday, he said that Rs. 288.91 crore had been allotted for this work. After digitisation, 23,648 Drawing and Disbursing Officers would submit salary particulars of employees to the respective treasuries through online.
Under this scheme, service record, salary particulars, promotion, transfer, leave and all other details of nine lakh government employees in the state would be computerised.
We had computerised service records of employees in Chennai, Thiruvannamalai and Erode districts. Later, the scheme was extended to other districts. In Dindigul, service registers of 27,302 employees would be digitised within the deadline, he said.
Employees could view complete details of service register through their mobile phone.
Such facility would help them update their SR immediately and add information, if any.
At present, 6.6 lakh out of total 7.39 lakh pensioners have been getting pension through treasury offices and rest of them through banks. Steps were taken to disburse pension to rest of the 79,000 pensioners through treasury only.
Taluk and headquarter government hospital too were included in the project. So, family members of government employees could avail medical care from nearest taluk and district headquarters hospitals.
