Students busy as entrance exams just round the corner

Chennai: While schools are busy prepping their students for board exams, students are busy juggling both preparations for board exams as well as the upcoming competitive exams.
One of the first tests candidates will face this year is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering taking place this week.
GATE scores will be used for admission to The Indian Institute of Science (IISc), IITs and PSUs.
Jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) and seven IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee), candidates will be taking the online computerbased test on Saturday and Sunday as well as the next weekend.
Meanwhile, NEET aspirants are a worried lot as a definite date for the release of the application form is yet to be announced.
“Last year, by this time we already had an idea about the dates and could plan our preparations accordingly. This year, there is so much delay causing confusion over when the form will be released,” said Lakshmi, a medical aspirant. While CBSE is yet to provide a clear date, numerous portals offering false hopes of notification dates are only adding to the students’ growing anxiety.
