After cancellation, MDS counselling to be held 
today

The second phase of counselling for admission to post graduate degree or diploma courses in selffinancing medical colleges and deemed universities to be held on Monday was cancelled by the state selection committee after students demanded “transparent and fair“ procedure.The committee allotted PG seats to nearly 80 students when students on the waiting list demanded that they were called in before allotting seats to fresh candidates.
“They told us no meritorious students will be left behind and that every student will be allotted a seat, we were worried that we may not get a seat of our choice. We made a representation to both health minister and senior health officials,“ said an MDS aspirant. After discussions with senior officials, selection committee secretary G Selvarajan announced fresh counselling will be held on Tuesday at the Government Multi Super Speciality Hospital in Omandurar Government Estate.
“The allotments given were cancelled. The counselling for admission to self-financing colleges will be held at 10am. At 2pm counselling will be held for deemed universities,“ he said.
Students have been asked to come with a bonafide certificate, original certificates including NEET PG scorecard and UG mark sheets, and demand draft of `5,000 drawn in favour of `The Secretary , selection committee, Kilpauk, Chennai600010 an hour ahead of counselling time.
