An organisation Change India
released a booklet named `In support of NEET Medical Test'on Wednesday
the director of organisation, Padam A Narayanan. It includes
arguments put up by the Tamil Nadu state government which claims that it
is against the federal right of the state and that bringing in
NEET would rattle the previously existing system of meritbased
counselling.
It also touched upon other common allegations like NEET being undemocratic towards rural and government school students. “The 15 page booklet was written after careful consideration of several allegations raised against NE ET exam. But for the nearly 85,000 NEET applicants this year from the state, this is the most organised and transparent way of admitting students into medical seats,“ said Narayanan. He explained that while a marks-dependent admission system can be riddled with human subjectivity . But a computerised correction system followed in NEET, which also has negative marking, is a more efficient way .
M Anandhakrishnan, former vice chancellor and Arulrhaj, former president of Indian Medical Association (IMA) and former chairperson of Commonwealth Medical Association were also present at the launch and expressed their solidarity . “Instead of having a separate entrance for every single college, NEET gives one unified platform,“ said Anandakrishnan.
