Police booked a 35-year-old Aadhaar operator in Rajasthan's Bhilwara district on Friday, for allegedly trying to get an Aadhaar card in the name of slain terrorist Osama Bin Laden. The accused Saddam Mansuri -who runs an Aadhar registration centre in Mandal -allegedly attempted to enroll an Aadhaar card in Bin Laden's name, a few days ago. “Mansuri filled Abbottabad, Bhilwara district as Bin Laden's address, and also uploaded a blurred picture of the terrorist in the profile. He, however, didn't input any identification proof, such as a thumb impression,“ Mandal deputy SP Chanchal Mishra said.

Following this, Mansuri's application came under the scanner of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), which detected several elements of suspicion in the enrolment application, including the absence of thumb or iris impression, as well as the registered address provided.
“Our team in New Delhi found the anomalies highly suspicious and informed the Rajasthan department of information and technology . I received a call from Jaipur office and immediately filed an FIR,“ said Sanjay Aludia, IT department circle officer, Mandal.

Police said they are waiting for documentary evidence from the IT department to ascertain why Mansuri booked under the IT Act tried to get an Aadhaar in the name of a terrorist.
