More than 1,500 candidates get placement offer letters
32 physically challenged students too take part in campus recruitment drive
More than 1,500 students, including 32 visually challenged students
and those with hearing impairment, of Kalasalingam University in
Krishnankoil in Virudhunagar district received offer letters from 85
companies at a campus recruitment drive on Saturday.
Giving away the offer letters at a function, the speakers urged the students to acclimatise themselves to the new environment at the new workplace and become achievers.
“Learn new things and work hard which alone will take you to the top,” said Viswanathan Venkatasubramanian, Head (Engineering hiring), Wipro. Despite new policies on hiring migrants by countries such as the US, there were good signs of job generation as many companies conducted campus placements regularly.
As assured by Chancellor K. Sridharan when the students stepped into the college, many got placed in top companies. “Your hard work will never go unrecognised. Continue to put in efforts,” said S. Sasi Anand, Director.
Dean (Placement Cell and Corporate Relations) Allaudin said 1,503 students received offer letters, and 242 of them were selected by more than one company. The companies which participated in the campus interview included Wipro, Amazon, Ernst Young, Tafe, Tech Mahindra. The compensation package ranged from Rs. 4.5 lakh to Rs. 6.5 lakh per annum.
Vice-Chancellor S. Saravana Sankar said their university was the only institution in Asia to offer B.Tech. for speech and hearing impaired students.
