Karnataka gets 150 more undergraduate medical seats

The state has got 150 more undergraduate medical seats for the ongoing counselling for the current academic year.

BENGALURU: The state has got 150 more undergraduate medical seats for the ongoing counselling for the current academic year.In a direction given by High Court of Karnataka on Friday it has been allowed to admit students for the Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences Koppal which was earlier rejected by the Medical Council of India to admit students due to lack of infrastructure facilities.

Challenging the MCI decision, the state government has approached the High Court and while hearing the petition the High Court has allowed to admit students in the current academic year in the ongoing seat allotment process. Officials from the state department of medical education said that these seats will be added to the second round medical seat allotment for which the schedule has to be announced.
