Tamil Nadu government hikes stipend for CRRIs, non-service doctors
The State government on Thursday hiked the monthly stipend for non-service doctors and also the MBBS students on Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship with effect from April 1, 2018.

CHENNAI: The State government on Thursday hiked the monthly stipend for non-service doctors and also the MBBS students on Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship with effect from April 1, 2018.
An official release said Chief minister Edappadi K Palniswami passed the order to increase the monthly stipend for CRRIs, non-service post graduate degree, post graduate diploma and higher speciality course students with effect from April 1.
For CRRIs, the stipend has been increased from Rs 13,000 to Rs 20,000, for first year PG degree students from Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000, for second year from Rs 26,000 to Rs 37,500 and for third year Rs 27,000 to Rs 40,000, for first year PG diploma students from Rs 25,000 to Rs 35,000 and for second year from Rs 26,000 to Rs 37,500, for first year higher speciality course students from Rs 30,000 to Rs 40,000, for second year Rs 30,000 to Rs 43,500 and for third, fourth, fifth and sixth year students, the stipend has been increased from Rs 30,000 to Rs 45,000. Also, for CRRIs and for non-service doctors there will be an increase of Rs 600 and Rs 1,000 annually.
The hike will mean Rs 44.17 crore expenditure to the government, the release said.The non-service doctors had earlier submitted a representation to health department officials to increase the stipend.
