A gold medallist in MSc from Rajasthan University, who wore a black band at his convocation ceremony on Thursday in protest against the police crackdown on AMU and Jamia students, was detained for half-an-hour, reports Parul Kulshrestha. Anant Mishra (right), a geology student, now pursuing M Tech from IIT Gandhinagar, had tied the band when accepting the medal from Rajasthan governor Kalraj Mishra. SHO Anil Jasoriya told TOI, “He was detained to inquire about his protest. As he didn’t create any disturbance and took his degree peacefully, we let him go.”
