No visa fees for Indians visiting Thailand
The
Royal Thai government has launched a temporary tourist visa fee
exemption scheme and a temporary Visa on Arrival fee reduction scheme to
celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic
relations between India and Thailand.
Under the first scheme, all applicants applying for a tourist visa (single entry) to Thailand will be exempted from paying the present visa fee of Rs. 2,000 till August 31.
The visa applications can be submitted through VFS Global Services Pvt Ltd (www.vfs-thailand.co.in), according to a press release from the Royal Thai Consulate General.
The fee for Visa on Arrival will be decreased to 1,000 THB from 2,000 THB at the designated immigration checkpoints.
Promotional airfare
Further, Thai Airways International has come out with a promotional airfare. People travelling from Chennai to Bangkok and beyond can book tickets from Rs. 16,000 onwards through the airlines’ website at www.thaiairways.co.in or any local authorised travel agent, the press release said.
