Three held for attacking dy director of medical edu

Police on Thursday arrested three men on charges of attacking the deputy director of medical education on Saturday, after he reportedly abused a woman employed at his office.
Police identified the trio as Saran, 23, from Vellavedu, Naveen Kumar, 24, of Park Town and Naveen Kumar, 24, from Perambur.
On July 21, Dr Jaganathan was on his way to a saloon when the trio intercepted him. They picked up an argument and began attacking him using cricket stumps they had brought along. A few passersby came to his rescue. Jaganathan, after getting his injuries treated lodged a complaint with the police at Thirumullaivoyal station. Following descriptions given by Jaganathan, police arrested Saran and the other two later based on his inputs.
Interrogations revealed that Dr Jaganathan verbally abused a woman DTP operator at his office. She reportedly took up the issue with her family members, who approached relative Saran. Police said, Saran along with his friends decided to confront him.
