Woman gives birth on flight, baby gets free Jet pass for life

A Kerala woman went into labour onboard a Jet Airways flight from Damman to Kochi and gave birth to a boy , as the flight was diverted to Mumbai on Sunday morning.
“The baby was born around 8.45am, while the flight landed in Mumbai at 9.12am,“ said an airport source. Among the passengers was a paramedic who along with the flight attendants assisted the pregnant passenger. Since it was the first birth aboard Jet Airways, the airline rewarded the baby boy with a free life-time pass for air travel.
“The Boeing 737 with 162 guests, was diverted to Mumbai as one of the guests went into premature labour,“ said a statement issued by Jet Airways adding that both mother and the baby were rushed to a local hospital and are current ly doing well. The airline informed the passenger's family in Kochi, who have flown down to Mumbai. The airline commended its crew “for their response and promptness as they successfully performed the life saving action''.
