76 candidates attend counselling on the second day; 221 seats were filled on first day; admissions under management quota postponed
The first round of MBBS counselling for government quota seats was held for the second day on Sunday. Nearly 711 candidates were called for counselling. “At least 76 candidates attended and 45 seats were allotted in different colleges based on merit, category, choice and availability,” said a press statement issued by Centac.
Centac Co-ordinator P.T. Rudra Goud said that nearly 221 seats were filled on the first day of counselling. On Sunday, counselling was held for 64 medical seats. “All the general merit seats were filled on Saturday, counselling for medical seats for MBC, BT and SC quota were held on Sunday,” he said. The students who have been allotted seats have to join the colleges concerned before July 31. The fees as notified should be deposited with Centac before July 28 by way of demand draft (drawn in favour of the college concerned).
Counselling postponed
Meanwhile, a communication received from Centac said: “Based on the information received from the self-financing medical colleges and representations from the parents’ association as communicated by the government, the counselling for MBBS management quota seats scheduled for July 24 stands postponed. Next date will be communicated shortly. Watch the Centac website,” it said.
Mr. Goud said applications for NRI quota were invited from candidates seeking admission in MBBS and BDS NRI candidates for the academic year 2017-18.
The online application submission opens on July 23, last date of online submission of applications is July 26 and the last date for receipt of hard copy of application by post is July 31.
