Collector conducts surprise inspection in PHC, GH
Stresses importance of providing quality medical treatment
Collector N. Venkatesh conducted surprise inspections at primary health centre in Alwarthirunagari and at Srivaikuntam Government Hospital on Wednesday. After inspecting the in-patient and out-patient blocks, maternity and infant welfare blocks, operation theatre and toilets, he appealed to the doctors to maintain hygiene in the interest of patients.
According to a statement, the Collector also stressed the importance for providing quality medical treatment to patients.
In Srivaikuntam GH, he inspected the maternity block and enquired with patients about the treatment and food being provided to them.

He also extended maternity assistance to a beneficiary during the inspection.
Further, the Collector also inspected some localities at Themankulam village in Alwarthirunagari union, where anti- dengue operations were being carried out, and advised the residents of the area to ensure hygiene besides avoiding stagnation of water.
Sources causing mosquito breeding such as unwanted coconut shells, worn out tyres and other unused material should be disposed of, he said.
