Train accidents due to driver age, negligence: study


A majority of train accidents caused by Signal Passing at Danger (SPAD) was attributed to the age and negligence of crew (loco pilots or engine drivers). Indian Railways reported 51 cases of SPAD in 2016-17, of which nine cases resulted in collisions or derailments.
