The Karnataka government has decided to recover all expenditure incurred by it during hearing of the disproportionate assets case against Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa from the State government. Karnataka’s Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister T.B. Jayachandra told presspersons on Thursday that the State’s Law Department alone had incurred an expenditure of Rs. 5.12 crore during trial of the case in the Special Court and the Karnataka High Court. Karnataka would seek all expenditure, including expenditure towards hiring services of Special Public Prosecutor during the trial that lasted for nearly 12 years in the Special Court in Bengaluru and the High Court of Karnataka.
