NASHIK: The 14th convocation ceremony of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences was held at the varsity's campus with chief minister Devendra Fadnavis to present the degrees to successful students.
Total of 7478 students from different streams of medicine were awarded with the convocation. Of these 71 gold medals were given to the students. Nine students were awarded with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Nazim Almas Sayyed of Government Medical College, Nagpur bagged 10 gold medals and a scholarship.
"Convocation ceremony is the most important day in the life of the students and their parents," said Fadnavis. He said that the young doctors should selflessly serve the patients and that the health of the country was in their hands.
Minister for higher education Vinod Tawade, minister of state for finance and planning Sudhir Mungantiwar, water resources minister and district guardian minister Girish Mahajan, vice chancellor of MUHS Arun Jamkar, pro vice chancellor Shekhar Rajderkar, registrar Kashinath Garkal, exam controller Kalidas Chavan, and others were present on the dias.
