MBBS, BDS merit list on June 12

The issue of application forms for MBBS and BDS courses offered in government medical colleges began on Monday.

The last date for issue of forms is May 28 and the last date for submission of filled-in forms is May 29.

The forms and the prospectus can be downloaded from tnhealth.org.

Forms will be sold at all the 19 government medical colleges and the dental college. The form costs Rs. 500 and is free for SC/STstudents who must produce a copy of the caste certificate at the time of purchase to avail themselves of the facility.

“The merit list of candidates will be released on June 12 and the first session of counselling will be held from June 19 to 25,” said Director of Medical Education S. Geetalakshmi.

Counselling will be held for 2,172 seats as of the 2,555 seats currently available, 383 seats will be set aside for All India Quota (AIQ).

To questions about whether admission to the ESIC Medical College would be conducted, medical education officials said that they were awaiting information from the Centre.

“All efforts are being made to ensure that the Medical Council of India gives the approval to admit students to the new college coming up at Omandurar Estate,” she said.

According to selection committee secretary R.G. Sukumar, at present 803 seats were available in 13 self-financing medical colleges and 1,020 seats in self-financing dental colleges.

Of the 100 seats in dental colleges, 15 would be allotted under AIQ.
