Excess admissions in MBBS course due to human error, High Court told Court extends hearing

Indore: On a petition challenging cancellation of some admissions in private medical colleges, the director medical education on Thursday informed Indore bench of Madhya Pradesh High Court that excess admissions in MBBS course had taken place due to human error so the same were cancelled.

In its reply to division bench, the DME stated that excess admission were granted in some private medical colleges due to human error while compiling computer admission sheets. “Later, the mistake was detected and additional admission were cancelled,” he said.

Admissions of as many as 37 students were cancelled by the DME after which they moved court. The court had sought the DME reply on the petition.
Objecting to the DME’s reply, the petitioners argued that it was not their mistake if any human error had taken place on government’s side and their admissions should be validated.

After hearing both the parties, the court extended the date of hearing in the case.
