Chennai sees huge traffic snarls ahead of Ayudha Puja

CHENNAI: There were huge blocks in Chennai on Thursday, especially on roads leading to Chennai Mofussil Bus Terminus in Koyambedu as commuters made a beeline to take buses to their hometowns ahead of Ayudha Puja.
There were traffic blocks at Arumbakkam, Vadapalani, Kodambakkam and Ashok Nagar.

Sunil Kumar, a marketing executive, said, "It took more than one and a half hours for me to reach Koyambedu from Chennai Central in an autorickshaw in the afternoon. The traffic on the Poonamallee High Road was moving at a snail's pace."
Police said more traffic snarls were expected towards the evening on all roads leading to Koyambedu.
