TTD to allow only 7,000 4-wheelers on Garuda seva day

TTD has resolved to allow only 7,000 four-wheelers to reach the sacred abode of Lord Venkateswara on the auspicious day of 'Garuda seva' slated on Sept. 27.
Talking to The Hindu, TTD Joint Executive officer K.S. Srinivasa Raju on Thursday said it was after a thorough exercise they had arrived at the figure.
Once the number is reached, pilgrims will be asked to park their vehicles at the Devlok complex and Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan grounds adjacent to the Alipiri checking point, Mr. Raju said, and added that devotees shall be picked up from the parking lots and ferried to the town in APSRTC buses.
TTD had already imposed a ban on plying of two wheelers on the Garuda seva day on its ghat roads.
